Its a long time since my last post….
But I am back with a lovely one!!
We had to go to Nagercoil on 22nd as my dad had some commitments there!
We had no time to think as we were informed only by 20th! I knew I would be missing my practical skills exam worth 20 marks. But I had no choice and now I think that this trip is worth it. Let me explain it to you………………………….
We were going by the Nagercoil express on 22nd at 18:40hrs. My adventure began there at the Egmore station while looking out for the platform on which this train arrives! We reached the station about an hour earlier and went out asking people for the platform. No one had an idea about that…people kept saying that it was a special train and that’s it! Finally with the word of four or five people we set out to platform No 3. We kept waiting there for about half an hour while my dad noticed a train at Platform 1 which was going to Nagercoil. My dad kept saying that it was Kanyakumari express when a few minutes before the departure we realized that it was the train we were supposed to board!! In a quick-nick hurry we managed to get in!..but the train was just the way I wanted it to be…all of us had lower berths..But my dad’s seat was far ahead of ours..After speaking with all those people on exchanging a lower berth for a middle one…we did it!! We At least managed to stay together. The train journey was good all I knew was sleeping at 11 clock and when I woke up it was 6:45!and the train arrived over there 4 hours LATE!!!
As soon as we arrived there We got a taxi and went up to the hotel in which rooms have been booked…and could rest upon..We had lunch
(it was actually a brunch) then slept for some time and then went around the streets with my father going” Ah!! This was the place where I used to walk….this was my friend’s grandfather’s shop” and I went lol! And the whole of Sunday the 23rd went like that!
On 24th Monday my dad had his business factor…and had to go..we stayed
at the hotel and after lunch we went to see my dad’s land, a hard to pronounce name but still it is called ‘Kakavilla’ .Just look at this exquisite scene and You’ll be left with an gazing awe. You can just see, hear and feel nature’s bounty there tickling all your five senses. The scene was completely exotic…at least you can see some
of the photos here . The people there are so nice they give you everything that grows there…bananas..Tender coconuts…fruits…and they take really good care of you..And we went shopping all the while in the evening..I know it is a strange place to shop; but can assure you that whatever you may get there may not be available any where else!..And then the dinner part (We had tried almost all the restaurants at that place by now!) and then I dozed off!
We set off to Kanyakumari on 25th…. Ah lovely..Lovely lovely!! Why do I keep saying this…but truly lovely lovely!! We did a whole lot of sightseeing there..All the memorials the beautiful seashore..the mighty ocean..phew I was indeed tired after all the sight seeing and not to mention the four hours of shopping we did on
the way back..my father again…fobbling…this is the school I went to…this is the pond where we used to swim.. this was my great grand father’s house and so on…and I listened with great interest and curiosity to his words…and by then I realized that it was time to pack everything up we would be leaving tomorrow evening…OMGosh!!This whole trip seems to pass so fast!! And did a li’l bit of packing and slept off…
The next day i.e yesterday.. 26th .. I slept a long time..Reason: My mom slept off longer. . We again packed the whole thing up.. and realized that we had no room left for all the things we purchased. After all the squishing and squashing we managed to pack the whole thing up. And then we went up walking about the streets bit of time..and it was time we had to get to the station ….and then it was 6:00 and we were onboard on the KanyaKumari Express. And I still don’t know why the hell is this train called super-Fast while it goes slower than a cycle!! The food we ordered was being supplied only at Madurai and it was 10:30 when we reached Madurai..I ate off and aaaaaaaahhhhhhh!! I had the upper Berth…I hate it!! This is the First Time I am having the upper one…and I felt so scary to climb over it! Ironically I just loved it when I was sleeping..There was no one to disturb you then. .I was actually thinking about school..no wonder I dozed off!!.. . And it was 7:00 when I woke up today morning …and we reached Egmore about 9:00 clock and it was then we realized about the rains in Chennai..on seeing the station itself flooded!! No wonder the Taxi people asked 1000Rs to drive to our house whereas usually it costs only 200 Rs. We had no choice but the pay them the more than Triple the usual fare and ride back!..
I heard from my friends yesterday was a holiday due to rain and so was today! And I understood the intensity of the rain as MY school declared a holiday! But believe me except a few drizzles there was no rain at all over there!!! And I am delighted with all these adventures and hoping tomorrow to be a holiday as well..;)
So bye till then!!
Toodles!!
